In the US, Labor Day is celebrated to commemorate the contributions of everyday workers across the country. This federal holiday was inaugurated in 1894, and always falls on the first Monday in September. It is often celebrated as a long holiday weekend, and therefore is worthy of short vacations or extended family get togethers. Most Americans view the holiday as summer’s last hurrah, the perfect opportunity for one more poolside weekend before the cool weather. Parades and outdoor events are often held on Labor Day; with fireworks to close out the evening.
Most non-essential federal employees and schools are given the day off, and there is no mail delivery. However, although considered a holiday weekend, many businesses choose to stay open to take advantage of the opportunity to sell to the workers who are off. Here at Gainan’s Flowers, we sincerely hope you are given the opportunity to relax and enjoy the day. Whether you choose to grill out on the patio with your friends, or meet the gang for a picnic – bring along a little ambiance! This unique growler arrangement will add color to the party and be a great take home for your friends, so order as many as you need – it will serve as a great reminder of the last great summer bash of 2015!
Don’t forget the ladies! This Flower Power Bouquet in a reusable flower tin is sure to invoke feelings of summer all year around.
